Anyone who knows me well knows just how stubborn I am. So, as much as I would easily say that being stubborn is totally amazing and there's nothing really wrong with it... I also know that is incredibly biased and probably the opposite of what you poor people who has someone like me in their life feels on a regular basis. So don't fret! Here is a completely factual breakdown of whether being stubborn is so bad after all!
Raising Successful Kids |
On the bright side, being stubborn isn't always a bad thing. It is most admirable in times of need to stick to your guns even if the world is against you, especially when it comes to helping others out of tricky situations. Many people will see this as a noble act! Just be aware that stubborn blindness can be dangerous... If you don't like to admit when you're wrong, or jump right in to a decision without thinking of the consequences, it may be doing more harm than good. Having a perception that you are making the right choice regardless of anything else can come across as selfish or narcissistic, so try to keep tabs on the bigger picture and what really matters to avoid being given the 'arrogant' label.
We may be strong-headed and hard to budge, and sometimes have a need to control others (to their justified annoyance), but those who are stubborn tend to have a better use of knowledge and how to apply it to a situation in front of them. In a relationship however, and this becomes tricky. Every relationship needs a strong-willed and a more laid-back person, but two stubborn people being together is no walk in the park. After an argument that has lasted for days, and apology that is three months overdue and the trip you promised last July is gone and forgotten, it may be a struggle to love one another - but that doesn't mean it is completely impossible!
Us stubborn folk are opinionated, brash, like to have control and avoid taking risks. But we are also knowledgeable, responsible and have a desire for success just like the next person! So while being around a stubborn person may be a pain, it isn't all bad!
